Hiram Walker Commemorative Statue Unveiling

The Hiram Walker Commemorative Statue is a new bronze sculpture that stands approximately 11 feet tall. Commissioned in 2016, in honour of Hiram Walker’s 200th birthday, the Hiram portion of the statue was created by sculptor Mark Williams, with whisky barrels created by sculptor Laura Williams. The piece was cast in bronze by John Vickers at Hopper Foundry. The statue project was generously supported by the City of Windsor, Windsor International Airport (YQG), WindsorEssex Community Foundation, Windsor Port Authority, Mr. Michael George Solcz, Mr. Mike Brykovich and Mr. Ian Gourlay with the Walkerville Brewery, Mr. Jim Scorgie, Canadian Club – Beam Suntory, ENWIN Utilities Ltd., Fortis Group, Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd., Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island, and Pamela and Tony Morse.

This unveiling ceremony will feature remarks from Mayor Drew Dilkens and special guests, the unveiling of the sculpture, and an opportunity to take photos of the new artwork and meet the sculptors. All part of the Hiram Walker 206th Birthday Celebration.
