Learn to properly document your work with consumer grade equipment. This workshop will include tips and tricks for lighting, hanging, and how to use in camera settings to minimize your post production time.

This workshop will also cover how to document events and performances to effectively communicate your practice to a digital or print audience.
Documentation is often the only way to introduce people to your work, using it effectively will:

-Increase your chances of securing grant funds
-Increase opportunities to exhibit/perform

-Raise your online profile
-Sell your work online

-Help you to present yourself as a professional

Workshop Suitable for:
Visual Arts, Musicians, Theatre, Dancers, Authors

Attendees Should bring:
An object to document (works no larger than 2’x3’ if wall work, 2’x2’ for sculptural work).
Laptop or tablet to take notes

6:30pm – Intro & Presentation: Documentation Do’s & Don’ts. / Lighting examples / Camera and file settings / Equipment lists
7:00pm – Documentation / Objects
8:00pm – Documentation / Events & People
8:30pm – End

About the Facilitator:

Nadja Pelkey is an artist and writer originally from Saskatoon, SK. She has an MFA from the University of Guelph and currently works as a photography technician at the School of Creative Arts, University of Windsor. Nadja has over ten years teaching experience working with a diverse range of students and institutions to deliver information rooted in an understanding of contemporary artistic practice.
