For the month of May, we are pleased to welcome Teajai Travis as our Artist in Residence!

 

Teajai was supposed to have a residency back in 2020, but due to the pandemic, it has been moved to May, 2022.

 

A Message from Teajai: “During my residency, I’ll be pulling my original poetry from the page to transform the work into a live experience. Throughout the residency, I’ll invite local artists and community members into the gallery to study and interpret my work from the unique perspective of a performer.

I’ll be in-studio at ACWR for studio visits on Monday’s from 2pm-3:30pm. I’ll also be working on digital compositions of audio soundscapes during my residency.”
