Amherstburg Art Crawl
July 11 - July 12

The Amherstburg Art Crawl returns to downtown Amherstburg on July 11 and 12, transforming the community into a vibrant showcase of visual arts, music, literature, theatre, and creativity.

A highlight of Saturday’s festivities is the Plein Air Competition, where artists transform downtown Amherstburg into an open-air studio, creating original works inspired by the town’s heritage, gardens and riverfront. Visitors can also take part in the “Unleashed” Art Tour, a self-guided experience that allows patrons to explore featured artists and exhibits at their own pace and in any order they choose. Artists will be stationed at locations throughout downtown, giving visitors opportunities to meet creators, learn about their work, and experience the artistic process firsthand.

Saturday will also feature the announcement and showcase of the Amherstburg Art Crawl Kids and Teens Art Competition winners, celebrating the creativity and talent of young local artists. Additional attractions include mural unveilings in Art Alley and local author showcases.

The O will serve as the official 2026 Amherstburg Art Crawl Headquarters throughout the weekend and will host the Art Bash on Saturday evening, a celebration of art, culture, and community.

Sunday features the popular Jr. Art Crawl in Art Alley, a family-focused celebration of creativity featuring a full day of children’s programming, live performances, and hands-on activities. The event will include visual arts workshops led by Aimee Bellefleur of Painting Perfection, performances by RDA Dance, children’s musician Kara Kaufmann’s music workshops, showcases from Sandwich West Public School’s Madagascar Jr. cast, a performance by the Musicland Camp Band, and a special appearance by the Junior Windsor Symphony Orchestra.

Additional interactive experiences include improv and musical theatre workshops presented by Unlimited Productions, giving children and families the opportunity to explore a variety of artistic disciplines throughout the day.

Special guests at River Bookshop include award-winning Nashville singer-songwriter and children’s author Tia McGraff, who will share music, stories, and selections from her Road Dawg book series, and local author and illustrator Marcus Cutler, who will read from his books and demonstrate his illustration process live.

Additional Sunday highlights include the Towne Crier Art Crawl and a performance by the Windsor Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet.

Featuring visual arts, live music, theatre, literature, public art, family activities, and interactive creative experiences, the Amherstburg Art Crawl offers something for visitors of all ages while showcasing the vibrant arts community in downtown Amherstburg.
