Accordion Book Workshop | ACWR Senior Community Arts Program

The Arts Council Windsor & Region’s Senior Community Arts program is a free monthly program dedicated to empowering and engaging adults aged fifty and up. Through skill learning Workshops & community based Tea & chats, participants are invited to connect, learn, and share creative experiences in a welcoming and inclusive environment. This free program will run monthly, from June 2026 – December 2026

This program is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.

Accordion Books with Leslie Harper-Reid

Join us for a creative workshop on making your very own accordion book!  In this hands-on session, you will learn the art of accordion book binding and create a unique book that folds and unfolds beautifully.  Leslie will guide you through the process of creating a one-of-a-kind accordion book to cherish or gift to a loved one.  Whether you are a seasoned crafter or new to bookbinding, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to explore a new creative outlet.  Don’t miss this opportunity to dive into the world of bookmaking and express your creativity in a fun and inspiring environment!

About the artist:

Leslie Harper-Reid

Leslie is formally educated in visual art, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lakehead University, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor. She taught visual arts at the high school level until her retirement in June 2023. 

Leslie provides small class instruction, offering a wide range of mediums and techniques. She enjoys seeing students of all ages immerse themselves during the creative process and the sense of pride in their finished work. Leslie believes in the positive impact art creation can have in a person’s overall well-being.
