A Temporary Guest: A Solo Photography Exhibition by Walter S. Petrichyn

December 8 - December 13

An urbanism and nature photography exhibit by Walter S. Petrichyn. This retrospective, spanning from 2009 to 2024, will showcase photographs  taken in Windsor and Essex County, across Canada, the United States and Iceland. The show focuses on the ephemeral experience of urban life and the healing  aspects of nature. From a cyclist biking through the Wyandotte Drouillard underpass to colorful buildings in Dawson City, Yukon, these images encompass the experience of being a temporary guest in this world. Artist will be in the gallery from Dec 9 – 12,  everyday from 6 – 8:30pm, following  standard daily ACWR hours of operation. 

Dec 13th Closing Night (With Short Urbanism Film Screening) 6-10:30PM

Expressing Toronto (16 Minutes) @ 6:30PM

A short film that examines various stakeholders who were directly and indirectly involved with the 2015 Gardiner East Expressway debate and vote by Toronto City Council. Entire film is composed of digital and film photographs. Film screened at WIFF in 2016 and the Toronto Indie Doc Fest in 2018.

Canada’s Steel City – Ojibway (26 min) @ 7PM

An archival short film that uses newspaper articles, film footage obtained from Library and Archives Canada, historical images and animated maps to tell the story about the former steel town of Ojibway, Ontario (now part of the City of Windsor). Windsor premiere.
