CBC Kids News is excited to invite children to apply to participate in upcoming feedback sessions that will help us shape our content! We are specifically looking for kids and teens ages 11 to 16 who are Deaf and/or living with a disability and live in Canada.

Participants will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas about news and digital accessibility with a group of CBC Kids News journalists. These group sessions will provide an engaging platform for kids to directly discuss how we present news that is relevant to them. We are committed to ensuring these sessions are inclusive and will work to accommodate individual needs.

The sessions are modelled on Indigenous youth feedback sessions run by the Kids News team in the past. Those sessions helped inform CBC Kids News’s Indigenous content strategy and helped us feature more Indigenous kids’ voices on our website. Our goal is to replicate the success of those sessions but with a focus on disability and accessibility.

Session Dates and Details:

  1. The first set of sessions will be on Aug. 8 and will run virtually through Zoom.
  2. The second set of sessions will be on Aug. 13 and will run onsite at the CBC broadcast centre in Toronto.

There are limited spots for each session and we can’t guarantee that every applicant will be selected to participate.

The deadline to apply is July 24, 2025.

More information and the sign-up form can be found at this link on our website.

We will also accommodate applications over email or by phone for anyone who has issues accessing or using the online form.

All applicants will be required to demonstrate parent or guardian permission to be considered for participation. Selected participants who attend our onsite sessions at CBC on Aug. 13 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
