The Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF) is a cultural, charitable organization whose mission is to recognize and celebrate the art of cinema by showcasing Canadian and International films and filmmakers. Delivering exceptional experiences through film, WIFF strengthens and enriches community while promoting the creative economy.
WIFF showcases films from all around the world, and has grown exponentially over the past few years. In 2019, WIFF was named the largest volunteer-run film festival in Canada by TIFF Film Circuit partners. The foundation has been set, and now the festival will continue to increase its cultural presence in the downtown core by hosting an 11-day festival. Last festival saw over 42,000 tickets sold, across 3 venues in downtown Windsor in 2023. The upcoming festival is scheduled for 11 days (October 24–November 3, 2024), and intends to present more than 300 screenings, and will offer audiences 4 screening venues throughout downtown Windsor. WIFF operates year-round with the WIFF Presents monthly screenings series and with WIFF Under the Stars, an outdoor screening series.
Year after year, much of WIFF’s success relies on the commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers. This fall WIFF is returning to Downtown Windsor and presenting our patrons with an eleven-day festival! This year marks our 20th anniversary and we have big things planned to celebrate this monumental achievement.
Whether you are a previous volunteer, a festival patron, or an engaging member of the community, we hope that you’ll consider joining our team of volunteers for WIFF 2024. With a variety of roles to be filled, there is something for everyone!
The festival will run from October 24th to November 3rd.
All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. The application deadline is August 9, 2024.
