SKETCHES OF an automotive supplier | Kalie Chapman

September 8 - September 12

Opening Reception: Monday, September 8th, from 4-7pm

Geared-up in PPE, a visual poet steps into a local gas tank manufacturer. With  the initial drive to simply collect stories of the people working the plant, she now emerges from her residency with a new-found knowledge of the mechanics behind making/producing gas tanks & the human engineering that fuels it.

We’re thrilled to welcome Kalie Chapman as the third Artist-in-Residence in our Creatives at Work program. Kalie is spending 6 weeks at Kautex during August and September, exploring new work inspired by the space and its community. Now, she is hosting an exhibition, showcasing the work created during her residency at ArtSpeak Gallery, on display September 8 – September 12. With an Opening Reception Monday, September 8th from 4-7pm and a Visual Poetry Workshop September 12th, from 3:30 -5:00pm.
